JULY 31, 2016
I hope you are all having a great summer :) Let us know in the comments where you have been yet or where you are planning to travel soon! We came back from Paris for a short rest in our hometown Strasbourg, before either getting back to work (Poor Maxime!) or leaving again for a few days elsewhere! For now, here is our Parisian trip in pictures, it is also the occasion for us to give you our top addresses and things to see there if you're a tourist! Of course you may also want to see the Eiffel Tower and the Musée du Louvre! For the outfits I wore, as always they will be individual posts for each of them! Stay tuned ;)
What to see
From famous museums and monuments to entire districts, this city has so much to offer that we get to discover new place each time we come - at least once a year since my childhood!!
L' Opéra Garnier - Paris à la belle époque, stunning architecture and beautiful ballet costumes to see...
La Grande mosquée de Paris - A pocket of orient near the Jardin des Plantes. Enjoy the delicate oriental architecture from the 1930s and learn more about the Muslim cult! Be careful, decent clothing is necessary if you want to visit (that means covering your shoulders and legs down to the knees at least).
Le Musée d'Orsay - Smaller than the Musée du Louvre but with its amazing former railway station and stunning art, it is just as beautiful!
Les quais - Wander along the Seine river from the eiffel tower to the cathedrale, have an icecream and shop for vintage posters!
Le Palais Royal - A famous spot know for the Buren colons but also a lovely place to rest. Explore around the Palais Royal and the Place de Valois!
Les Serres d'Auteuil - The Parisian botanical garden, located away from the center. It is the perfect place to go if ou want to escape a bit from the crazy city!
Le Musée Branly - One of the most interesting museums I've ever seen. Their collections show the art and traditions of all 5 continents native people.
Where to eat:
Paris is a paradise for any food lover, there is always something to suit every taste! We had plenty of choice and of course couldn't try every restaurant but from where we've been, here are our favs!
Mmmozza - (57 Rue de Bretagne, 75003 Paris) This small shop offers stunning various kinds of mozzarella and some delicious Italian products. Try the braided Mozzarella, it's pure heaven!
Bon marché - (24 Rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris) One of the famous great shopping centers in Paris along with the Printemps and the Galeries Lafayette. But what I love them for is their Gourmet shop! Be prepare to fill your bag with delicatessen!
You - (11 Rue Sainte-Anne, 75001 Paris) One of the best Japanese restaurant I've ever tried! Their prices are a little over other restaurants in this famous street but it's totally worth it!
Bistrot Victoires - ( 6 Rue de la Vrillière, 75001 Paris) Their filet de boeuf with roasted thyme is just amazing, just as much a the decor of this typical Parisian brasserie!
Where to shop:
What would be Paris without shopping? La rue de Rivoli and La rue Saint-Honoré are among the most famous, but here are some more places are really loved to go!
Les passages - There are many of the in Paris, but each one has a special atmosphere and unique shops. This time, my favorite has to be the Passage du Grand Cerf!
Colette - Located in the Rue Saint Honoré, this is where you go to find top trendy accessories!
Sézane - (1 Rue Saint-Fiacre, 75002 Paris) My favorite Parisian brand's showroom that also has a shopping section : Lovely home accessories and paper goods!
La garçonnière - (40 Rue des Petits Carreaux, 75002 Paris) This one got Maxime's heart. A shop dedicated to men's style, from accessories to delicatessen, cookery books, shoes, fun gifts and more!
Fleux - (39 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, 75004 Paris) Looking for some gifts and gorgeous furniture / home decor? This place is your heaven.
Saint Germain des prés - This district is backed with trendy cafés and concept stores, a special mention to Inès de la Fressange store, I fell in love with almost everything!
Le Marais - Another district where you can easily find your happiness!
